The School's Headteacher talks about Hafod-Y-Wern Primary

Welcome to the Hafod y Wern Community  Primary School website. The school was formed in September 2007 when the previous Infant and Junior schools amalgamated. It was in September 2007 that I started at the new school as Headteacher. Many changes have taken place in our school since 2007 and through the commitment of the staff we have established a primary school ethos that enables pupils to learn and develop as young people in a primary school environment.

‘ The way pupils are cared for, guided and supported is an outstanding feature of the school’- school inspection report April 2009.

We aim to provide a wide range of high quality learning experiences giving every child the opportunity to achieve the best that they can. I am a firm believer in enriching the curriculum through visits, visitors and special experiences and because of this our school is an exciting, inspiring place in which to learn.
